Shannon Rose Merrigan is a local artist born and raised in the Portland area. A graduate of Portland State University, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Art Practices in June, 2017. Merrigan’s artistic concepts stem from her personal interpretation of nature and her emotional and intellectual responses to her experience. Drawing and painting for over twenty years, she has an extensive collection of work and several of her pieces are in private collections in the Portland Metropolitan area. She has participated in two group shows in 2016: 50 Works at Portland State University’s MK Gallery, and the 35th Annual Gender Studies Symposium at Lewis and Clark College. Merrigan's paintings have also been published in two issues of Pathos Literary Magazine in 2016. Her most recent work is scheduled to be on display at Tigard Art Walk, June 2018 and also in a group show at East Creative Collective called Portland Rooted, June 2018. Currently she resides in Tigard Oregon with her husband and two children.
